If you've ever wanted to be Braveheart, or slay dragons, do your best St. George impersonation and head on over to the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds. With one of the largest collections of swords, guns, shields and unique weaponry from the 5th Century BC to modern times, it's a great place to get medieval. There's an amazing amount to see with the interactive computer displays, demonstrations, films and poetry telling historic stories of armor's use for fighting (obvious), sport (Spandex is better to run in) and fashion (hope it doesn't come back into style). Just outside the museum is a field for live tournaments, hunting displays, gun, sword, and martial arts demonstrations as well as cowboy-shoot outs. No need for coffee that day to get you going. If the museum in Leeds doesn't get you excited enough, the live shows will have you itching for your own Excalibur to wield.
