This is an excellent, informational source for anyone traveling to Hong Kong or the outlying islands. The book gives first-hand accounts
from guidebook writer Kerry Moran, who won the 1991 Lowell Thomas
Travel Journalism Award for Best Guidebook. The guidebook is filled
with tips and itineraries for every type of traveler. In addition,
the maps are detailed and very useful, especially in the main city.
The only drawback are the confusing directions given for eateries
in Central.

example of the honest portrayals written throughout this well researched
guidebook. Hong Kong is expensive, and if your fancy is to spend more
than usual, then this is a good starting point. The book focuses on
shopping, and in the section "Discovering Hong Kong's Shopping Secrets,"
focuses on 21 sections of buying different items. The section on "Preparing
for a Unique Adventure" also offers some interesting financial tips
in the metropolis.

This book generously covers a little bit of everything. If a guidebook could be written for everybody, this is probably it. It has an extensive
sections on food and shopping in Hong Kong. It gives good information
on the best time to visit certain places. The guidebook also focuses
on speaking the basics in communicating in Cantonese Chinese, a necessity
that many other guidebooks leave out. In addition, certain sections
give top-10 lists of places to see and things to do, a good starting
point for new arrivals.
